Many times in the last several years, I have pointed out to others that I feel like we are living in a version of The Hunger Games. Having you point out the possible obliviousness of “Hollywood” about the deeper meaning of this novel (and hopefully the film) during the marketing highlights to me the obvious divide between elites in our country and the average citizen. Entertainment, addictions and division between us help to keep us distracted from the bigger issues and focusing on ourselves and supposed manufactured differences from others rather than on the “rulers” who could be driving our country off of a cliff. (OK that was morbid but really what I have been thinking about recently.)

This novel was brilliant, and in my mind, surpassed the original three however that could likely be only because of what the original trilogy set up. I am wary of most novel to screen adaptations and reluctant to go to this film. I will likely see it at some point but maybe not at a theater.

Thank you for the insights and update!

Do you, as do I, anticipate that this will be the first of another trypitch?
